The role of drum granulator in compound fertilizer production line

For the specialty of granulation of Organic fertilizer raw materials, livestock manure, feces, compost, green manure, sea manure, cake fertilizer, peat, soil manure, three wastes, microorganisms and other urban domestic waste organic fermentation fertilizers, the particles are irregular pellets. The qualified granulation rate of the machine is up to 80-90%, which is suitable for many different formulations. The compressive strength of Organic fertilizer is higher than that of disc and drum, and the large ball rate is less than 15%. The particle size uniformity can be adjusted through the stepless speed regulation function of the machine according to user requirements. Organic fertilizer drum granulator is most suitable for direct granulation of Organic fertilizer after fermentation, saving drying process and greatly reducing manufacturing cost.

The design of drum granulation for producing composite fertilizers is to embed a steam pipe in the material bed, and install a sprinkler pipe above the material bed. Under stable production and supply conditions, saturated steam provides heat while also providing some moisture to humidify the material.

Through the use of steam, the temperature and viscosity of the material are increased, which reduces the water content of the material during the balling process, thereby reducing the drying load. Moreover, adding steam can achieve a more uniform distribution of the liquid phase than adding water. Only when the liquid phase of the material is insufficient and the material is unstable, can water be added as a supplementary means.

During the production of compound fertilizer Organic fertilizer rotary drum granulator, we encountered that the improper installation of steam nozzle and uneven distribution of liquid phase of materials resulted in large balls sticking at places with more liquid phase of materials, and difficult balls forming at places with insufficient liquid phase, which affected the formation of particles. In response to this situation, we can increase the steam nozzle to increase the steam receiving area of the material.

In summary, the important principle of producing composite fertilizers through drum granulation is to minimize the addition of water during granulation, moderately increase the temperature and solubility of the material, in order to achieve the goal of reducing heat energy consumption, improving the ball forming qualification rate, increasing yield, and reducing production costs.
