The large wheel compost turner utilizes a rotating disc structure to perform the turning process through the coordinated operation of a spanning bridge, a traversing trolley, a lifting boom, a rotating disc, and a main travel mechanism.
During operation, the bridge travels along the length of the fermentation tank, while the traversing trolley adjusts the disc's position across the tank's width. A hydraulic cylinder controls the working depth of the disc, and a motor—coupled with a speed reducer—directly drives the disc to rotate at high speed. High-strength alloy cutting teeth on the disc's rim cut into the compost pile like milling cutters; they scoop up cold, anaerobic material from the bottom, toss it into the air, and simultaneously shift it backward, achieving a combined effect of oxygenation, material breakdown, and homogenization. This operational method, which applies force vertically downward, gives the equipment a strong capability to “bite through” and process materials prone to compaction—such as high-moisture cattle manure, mixtures containing sludge or filter cake, and bacterial residue—by breaking up clumps through centrifugal force and shearing action, thereby rapidly restoring the pile's porosity.

The channel width determines the custom span of the wheel, while the depth must not exceed the equipment's maximum turning capacity; ensure at least 50 cm of clearance on both sides for maintenance. Use national standard steel rails and embed steel plates in the concrete base to prevent rail deformation under heavy loads.
When processing high-viscosity or highly corrosive materials——such as sewage sludge or food waste—request reinforced anti-corrosion treatment for the entire machine and wider rake teeth. For materials with a high straw content, the wheel rotation speed can be increased to enhance the shredding effect.
For an output of over 200 tons of organic fertilizer per day, turning 2–3 times daily is recommended. For large-scale projects exceeding 500 tons per day, deploying two large-wheel turners to operate in separate zones can ensure fermentation efficiency.
