Precautions for Using Organic Fertilizer Disc Granulators

As the core equipment in granular fertilizer production lines, the proper operation of organic fertilizer disc granulators directly affects granulation rate, product quality, and equipment lifespan. Mastering the following precautions will effectively improve production efficiency and reduce the risk of malfunctions.

Thorough preparation is necessary before starting the machine. First, check whether the equipment foundation is stable, whether the anchor bolts are loose, and whether the tension of the transmission belts and chains is appropriate.  Sufficient lubricating oil should be added to all lubrication points. Electrical system inspection is indispensable; confirm that the power supply is matched, the wiring is secure, and the grounding device is reliable to avoid leakage hazards. Raw material pretreatment is crucial; large impurities must be removed, and the moisture content should be controlled within the appropriate range of 30%-40%. The particle size uniformity must meet the standards to ensure a stable granulation process.
Precise control is required during operation. Feeding should be uniform and stable, avoiding fluctuations that lead to load imbalance in the disc. It is recommended to control the feeding speed through a quantitative feeder, maintaining the material height in the disc at approximately 1/3 of the disc diameter. Monitor core parameters in real time; the disc inclination angle is generally adjusted to 18°-22°, and the rotation speed is matched to the diameter at 12-18 revolutions per minute, which can be fine-tuned according to the particle formation. Pay close attention to the machine body temperature and operating sound. If abnormal vibration or metal friction sounds occur, stop the machine immediately and check the bearings, gears, and other components. Simultaneously control the material humidity, precisely adjusting it through a spraying device to prevent excessive wetness causing sticking or excessive dryness preventing granulation.
Maintenance after shutdown should not be neglected. After production, promptly clean the residual material from the inner wall of the disc to prevent drying and caking, which could affect the next start-up. Regularly check the wear of vulnerable parts and replace aging belts and worn scrapers in a timely manner. Perform proper lubrication and maintenance, regularly adding special lubricating oil to bearings and gears, and cleaning dust and impurities. Furthermore, standardized operation records should be kept to provide a basis for subsequent maintenance.
Following these precautions will ensure that the organic fertilizer granules are uniform and smooth, the granulation rate meets the standards, and the service life of the disc granulator machine is extended, achieving efficient and stable production.
