Working principle and maintenance of disc granulator

2025/07/25

As a key equipment in the organic fertilizer production line, the disc granulator is favored for its advantages of efficient granulation and uniform particles. In the production of organic fertilizer, it can make livestock and poultry manure and straw powder into round particles, solving the problem of difficult transportation of traditional compost. When the raw materials (such as powder, slurry) enter the inclined rotating disc, under the combined action of friction, centrifugal force and gravity, the materials move in a circle along the inner wall of the disc and gradually climb upward. As the spray device sprays the binder evenly, the fine particles continue to absorb the surrounding materials, gradually grow like a snowball, and finally form particles that meet the particle size requirements, which are automatically discharged from the edge of the disc. The whole process is continuous and stable, and the granulation rate can reach more than 85%, which can meet the needs of large-scale production.

Scientific maintenance is essential to keep the disc granulator running efficiently for a long time. There are three points to pay attention to in daily maintenance: First, check the flatness and inclination of the disc before starting each time. If there is a deviation, it needs to be adjusted in time to avoid uneven particle size; second, regularly clean the residual material on the inner wall of the disc to prevent agglomeration and adhesion from affecting the granulation effect, and apply lubricant to reduce component wear; finally, pay attention to the operating status of the transmission system, check the lubrication of gears and bearings every month, and immediately stop the machine for inspection and maintenance if abnormal noise or overheating is found to avoid major problems caused by minor faults.
In addition, seasonal maintenance should not be ignored. In a humid environment, electrical components such as motors need to be moisture-proof, otherwise short-circuit shutdowns are likely to occur; in high temperature seasons, the heat dissipation system should be checked to ensure that the equipment works at an appropriate temperature. Adhering to the principle of "prevention first, timely maintenance" can not only extend the service life of the equipment by 3-5 years, but also ensure production efficiency and product quality, and create stable profits for the company.
