What to Pay Attention to When Using a Double Roller Press Granulator

2025/12/17

The double roller press granulator is a key piece of equipment in industries such as fertilizer production and feed processing. Its stable operation directly affects product quality and production efficiency. To ensure safe and efficient operation of the equipment, the following points should be given special attention during use.

Pre-startup inspection is fundamental. Carefully check that all bolts on the equipment's connecting parts are tightened to prevent loosening and abnormal noise during operation; check the lubricant level and quality to ensure sufficient lubrication of bearings, gears, and other transmission components, preventing dry friction damage; confirm that the roller gap meets production requirements, and clean any debris from the roller surface and residual material inside the machine to prevent material blockage after startup. In addition, the electrical control system and safety protection devices should be tested to ensure that emergency stop and overload protection functions are normal and effective.
Monitoring during operation is a crucial aspect. Strictly control the feeding speed and material moisture content.  Feeding too fast can easily lead to equipment overload, and excessively high or low moisture content will affect the granulation effect, or even cause material blockage. Observe the roller operation status in real time; if abnormal vibration, abnormal noise, or uneven roller surface wear occurs, stop the machine immediately for inspection; monitor the motor current and temperature, maintaining a stable current and ensuring the motor temperature does not exceed the rated range. At the same time, operators must operate the equipment according to regulations, strictly prohibiting opening the machine cover or touching moving parts with hands while the equipment is running to avoid safety accidents.
Post-shutdown maintenance is key to extending service life. Before shutting down, stop feeding first, and wait until the material inside the machine is emptied before turning off the main unit; promptly clean residual materials from the roller surface, hopper, and conveying components to prevent material caking and corrosion of the equipment; regularly check the roller surface wear, and repair or replace severely worn rollers; replace the lubricating oil periodically and clean the oil passages to ensure smooth operation of the transmission system. In addition, keep detailed records of equipment operation to facilitate subsequent maintenance and troubleshooting.
In short, only by strictly controlling all precautions before startup, during operation, and after shutdown, and by adhering to standardized operation and maintenance procedures, can the operational stability of the double roller press granulator be effectively improved, its service life extended, and smooth production ensured.
